To those who enjoy Halloween, a North American Pagan celebration, I thought I pay homage to some of my favorite zombie movies. Yes, I’m a horror movie buff and here I’ll list most of the zombie movies I’ve seen but I’m sure I’ve forgotten a few. Just to be clear a zombie movie, movies about the undead wreaking havoc, is very different from super natural movies such as Poltergeist or The Conjuring, or serial killer movies such as Friday the 13th (staring Jamie Lee Curtis) or The Shining (staring Jack Nicholson).
I once was asked to provide some fun facts about myself as a new hire and so I gave my top 10 favorite zombie movies, which was shared with the entire company (to my surprise), while other new hires shared much more mundane facts like “I enjoy baking or I love hiking”. By the way, my fun fact made me pretty memorable in the company. That’s one way to make an impression!
Here is a list of most of the zombie movies I’ve watched in no particular order and many I have watched more than once.

Now, I like the Resident Evil franchise of movies. The first 3 were pretty good but in my opinion they made too many movies without moving the plot. Also, they launched the Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, but look it’s not really the “final chapter”, is it? As a fan, I was duped into thinking that’s the end but hell no … they made “Welcome to the Raccoon City” after! The word from Hollywood is that they are making another Resident Evil movie to be released in the fall of 2026. Arrggg, all I have to say is “it better not suck” like the last one!
Resident Evil (2002)
Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004)
Resident Evil: Extinction (2007)
Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010)
Resident Evil: Retribution (2012)
Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (2017)
Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City (2021)
Resident Evil: 🧟♀️ TBD: It better not suck! 🏴☠️ ☠️ (2026?)
If you enjoy this, let me know and maybe I’ll do my favorite non-zombie horror movies next year. What’s your favorite horror movies? Comment below.
